A letter from our CEO

A messenger made for love and care

"A place to connect with care and love" — that is how we describe Solovo, and these words have become our guiding star. The messenger is designed for life's warmest moments: family news, birthday wishes from friends, evening calls to parents and short videos that say more than any lengthy text.

That is why Solovo offers everything you need to share your feelings: voice and video messages, family video calls, stories and our signature video replies to them. The app runs on iPhone, Android and in the browser, so your loved ones stay in touch from any device.

What we believe in

The best technology is invisible. A great messenger is like a great phone line: you simply talk. That is why most of our work happens behind the scenes. Calls on Solovo travel through our own relay servers in several regions of the world, keeping the connection clear and stable wherever you are.

Convenience is a form of respect. Every button in Solovo makes sense even to someone holding a smartphone for the first time. Hence the large, clear screens, light and dark themes, and sign-in with a phone number in just a few taps.

Reliability is at the heart of everything. We perfect each feature until it works flawlessly before moving on.

Your attention belongs to you. On Solovo, it is devoted entirely to the people you talk to. You decide when and why the app reaches out: notifications can be fine-tuned down to an individual chat and sound.

What Solovo can do

Messaging. Text, photos, videos and files — up to 20 at a time, each up to 200 MB. You can reply to a specific message, forward it, edit something already sent and delete it for everyone. Links unfold into a neat preview, and a long message can hold up to 4,096 characters.

Voice and video. Voice and video messages up to a minute long — for when you would rather say it than type it.

Calls. One-on-one and group audio and video calls, screen sharing and camera switching. An incoming call looks just like a regular phone call, even when the app is closed.

Groups and channels. Family and friend groups with an owner and admins, plus invitations via link and QR code. A link can be revoked if it ends up in the wrong hands. For news, there are channels where only admins post.

Stories. Up to 20 stories at once, with video trimming and a photo editor built right into the app, plus a view counter. Stories can be shown to everyone, to contacts only, or to everyone except the people you choose.

Video reply to a story. A Solovo signature feature: respond to a loved one's story with a short video of your own reaction. Sometimes a single smile in return says more than any comment.

Reactions and stickers. Emoji reactions to messages and sticker packs.

Notifications your way. Mute a chat for an hour, 8 hours, a day, until a chosen date or forever. Pick your own sounds — "Nightingale", "Oriole", "Tit" and more. You can also hide message text in notifications.

Our approach to privacy

Conversations with loved ones are personal, and you should be the one to decide who sees what.

• Passcode for the app, with unlocking via Face ID or fingerprint.
• Visibility of stories and online status is adjustable. Instead of the exact time, you can display "last seen recently".
• Blocking and reporting. Unwanted contacts can be blocked. Users, groups and sticker packs can be reported.
• Secure connection. Messages are sent only over secure TLS/WSS protocols, calls run over an encrypted WebRTC channel, and data is stored encrypted on our servers.
• Account deletion in settings, together with all your data — immediately after you confirm.
• Age. Independent use from age 16; from age 13 with parental consent.
